Catching up...

I can't believe it has been like 5 weeks since I have posted! I have been reading all of your blogs but haven't really been in the blogging mood myself. I am having trouble getting pictures off of my phone which you all know is how I take most of my pictures so I am going to catch you up on our life and show you the pictures later.

Be prepared though, I haven't even shown you Halloween pictures yet!

So the main thing new with me is I have started working out. I got a membership and I have actually been using it. I have never worked out in a gym before and thought I would hate it. I like it though, I have been waking up at 4:30 in the morning and going to the gym at 5 for about a month now. It feels good just to say that I can do it! Now I need to get the eating thing in order so I can lose some weight!

We went to the midnight showing of Twilight and had a blast! I re-read the book right before and was so looking forward for it to be perfect. That's what I get for setting myself up like that I guess because I ended up pretty disappointed. Oh well we had an awesome girls night, so much fun!!

I had a great week this week, we had game night on Wednesday with Kevin, Jamee, Denise, Royce, Katie, and all of the kids! The kids had a lot of fun playing and we did too. Thanksgiving was a nice mellow day spent with all of our family. Friday was FUN! We left the house at 3:45 a.m. for shopping and we all got everything we needed and wanted plus some of course! The unfun part of the day was totaling my spending and reporting back to the husband. That's okay because the fun started up again. We went to the BSU game with Kevin, Jamee, Kelly and Lindsey and I had a lot of fun! Who ever said blow outs are boring? The game was a blast, it was fun yelling and high fiving, people watching, and laughing with each other.

I am very thankful for my friends and family and all that I have! Life is good!

I will post some pictures later... HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Thank goodness for camera phones!

Here are some more random pics from our phones...

October Fun!!

We went to Linder Farm's pumpkin patch! We had so much fun! We went on a hay ride that took us to an awesome petting zoo, this was my favorite part. They had a zebra, and a halarious camel, horses, and more in which you could feed all of them, tons of fun. They had consessions so we could eat dinner out there. Caleb, Katelyn, and I went through the corn maze and found our way out in only 40 minutes. That was fun, Caleb led us around successfully to the end. While we did that Scott took the little kids on the bounce houses, hay maze, and a barrel train ride. Kevin, Jamee, and family met us out there and we got to do the petting zoo all over again with Ashlynn! The hay ride dropped us all off at the pumpkin patch of our choice in which we found some cool pumpkins. We finished off with hot choclate and donuts to go. What a great family outing!
I have captured some photos to share but story of my life, we forgot the camera and had to use our phones... so we don't have pictures from everything since we ran out of memory on our phones. Stay tuned for Jamee's post which is sure to have some great photos as well. (Thanks guys for sharing in our fun, letting us share in your fun and always being prepared with a camera!)

Tagged...

1. I get fake toe nails in the good weather. I love it, I have done it for 3 years now and I don't even get my finger nails done, just my toes. This sort of starts my next quirk but when I have my toes done I only wear open toed shoes, I even wore open toed shoes when I went to Newfoundland and saw the ice bergs, when I don't have my toes done I only wear close toed shoes.

2. This part isn't so quirky but I love shoes. I love to have different shoes to go with different things and am pretty particular with what kind of shoes should go with what outfit. I am both particular in color and style. So with that said I do need a wide variety of shoes to choose from. I had the best lunch hour ever the other week, I was making my transition to closed toed shoes and bought 5 pairs! To be honest I think this is pretty normal but since I get razzed about it maybe it is a quirk.

3. I write with my left hand but do everything else with my right. I bowl, bat, throw all right handed. Oh and I eat with either hand.

4. I play with my hair when it is down, I don't twirl like others or flip it, or even pick my split ends... I put it behind my ear and then take it out and then put it back, and take it out. It is hard to explain but I always do it and when I catch myself I even think it is weird. I have done this since I was in Jr high, I can remember laying and the floor talking on the phone and doing just what I described.

5. I do not like the water. I do not like to get wet, or splashed. If I finally decide to go play in the water, go to the water park or something so that I am not being a party pooper it takes me a while to actually get in the water, but still I hate to get splashed even if I am already wet. People of course know this about me so they like to do cruel things like turn the sprinkler on where I am sitting and gather everyone around to watch. I don't even put my face in the shower stream, I cup the water in my hands to wash my face.

6. I am pretty picky about the type of service I receive in a restaurant. Because I worked in a restaurant so long I notice any missed step and am always critiquing the service I receive. Because of this I think I am jinxed because I often receive poor service, especially when we are in a group and it often gets blamed on the fact that I am there.

So here is how this works... You have to tell 6 quirks about yourself. Jamee tagged me (thanks!) and now I have to tag 6 others: Lindsey, Katie, Kara, Jodi, you're it. I don't know anyone else that reads my blog that hasn't already been tagged so I guess it stops there.

Miss ya Sadie.

Well its October. It has been 1 year since Sadie died. For those of you who don't know, Sadie was our most awesome family dog of 7 years. Pretty much everyone loved her, she was well behaved and very loveable, and beautiful. Couple of good memories... she would sing (howl) to loud noises like a harmonica and it would just crack everyone up. She would also come lay her head on your feet especially company, she just had to be touching someone. She died last October of Kidney failure, sigh, that sucked soooo bad. We love and miss her and she will always be our "good girl" and the best dog ever.
Sandy is our dog now and I have to say that I have not built a relationship with her. She is very pretty and she is sweet but she has a lot of bad habits. We made a rebound, unthought, knee jerk decision to get her when we saw the add in the paper. She was 8 months old when we got her and supposedly very well trained. The kids love her though especially Cade. Hopefully we can get her some training and she will mature and turn out to be a good dog too.
I have included a very cute picture of Kamryn falling asleep on Sandy. Funny this is the only furniture either dog was allowed on, the futon in the office and both dogs favorite spot to fall asleep. I will keep looking for a picture I can use of Sadie.

Cousins, Cousins, Cousins are Fun!!

Here are a few pictures from when Trae and Aspyn were over and from today while I watched Ashlynn and Jace. I have to tell you a few pictures are missing from the day spent with Ashlynn and Jace, like Cade and Ashlynn playing ring around the rosies, so cute, and don't forget Cade and Ashlynn fighting, not so cute. So young and already fighting you say... its Cade he is such a bully boy. Actually, we should have had the video camera out, we spend all that money and still all I use is my cell phone to take pictures. We always have so much fun when the cousins are over!

Why?

Are you asking why did she not post for so long and now all of the sudden she went crazy? Let me explain... I am obsessed! Okay I finally started to read the Twighlight series. Let's just say that my laundry is worse off than my blog. I just finished Eclipse and am forcing a few days break to get caught up on a few things plus I am not ready for it to end yet. I know I sound like a lunatic but I know most of you have been there. So the neighbor boy was over and he cut his finger and I actually made the comment "uh oh lets get a Bandaid on that before the vampires come", I told you lunatic. Good thing his mom is who loaned me the books right? Well anyway there is the answer to your question.

What should we do on Labor Day?

Well we went to Birds of Prey. It was pretty cool actually and inexpensive. They have several really cool birds at the location like a bald eagle and several different kind of hawks in the exhibits outside. Inside they have several hands on exhibits and educational films. You can have a tour guide or just look around. They had some really amazing birds on exhibit inside. A Californian Condor, Vulture, and a Harpy Eagle (this one was pretty scary). The kids liked it, except for the films. I think we will make sure to visit more regularly.

First Day of School

Kami started preschool! She was very excited, I dropped her off and she was fine, she didn't need me to stay, I had to ask for a kiss goodbye. Is this supposed to be a good thing, it sure doesn't feel like it? No really I am so proud of her! Since I am posting this so late I can tell you that she loves it!

Katelyn is in 3rd grade! This is her first year at a school with out her brother. She rides the bus to school now and thinks that is pretty cool. She was excited to get back to seeing all of her friends and of course take her phone to school... well she didn't get to do that yet but I think we are just about there. ;)

CALEB! Believe it or not this was the hardest one for me this year. It was like kindergarten all over again... Caleb started 6th grade which is middle school in our school district. Those thoughts of is he big enough, will he remember his locker combination, the school is so big will be able to find his classes, flooded my mind. It was seriously hard for me to be okay with it and that hit me out of no where, I really wasn't expecting to feel like that. Well he too is doing just fine, he remembered his locker combination and came home thinking that middle school is the best thing ever.
I didn't get pictures of the big kids on the first day and was going to stage some the first week and never got around to that so now you get a pictureless post.

Blogging

One of the things that I love about blogging is that Scott has to share the computer with me! If anyone knows Scott they know that the computer chair is his favorite spot in the house. He loves blogging too but not how it is cutting into his time.

Family Vacation

Day 1
This was our first stop on the road. At this stop we learned about those that traveled the Oregon Trail and watched Cade throw a bunch of pine cones. Despite the one hundred are we there yet questions from Katelyn I must say the kids traveled pretty well the whole way there.
This was at Spokane Park, they have a big fountain that the kids play in. This is also where the big red wagon was that you will see in the slide. They also had amusement rides, we looked at some water falls, and ate some really yummy shaved ice. This was a nice stop to break up the day of travel.
After this we went to the hotel in Hayden and went to the water park that is attached to the hotel. It has 3 big water slides and a kids area similar to the one here at Roaring Springs. All of the kids loved going here but unfortunately we didn't get any pictures.
Day 2
We spent most of this day at the lake. We took a scenic ferry ride around the lake, really pretty, a lot of gorgeous houses on the lake, 90 minutes much too long for 4 kids. The kids also swam in the lake, (no pictures) it was pretty chilly out but they insisted. Caleb, Katelyn, and Kamryn did anyway, Cade just chased seagulls.
This is also the night we went to eat dinner at a restaurant, big mistake, great atmosphere, good food, it was called Tomato Street, but Cade threw a tin can at the family next to us among other things that made us get our food to go. Back at the hotel Katelyn and Kamryn decided to play with the phones in the room (landlines) I finally unplugged them so they wouldn't cause any problems... too late... guy knocks on the door to see what the problem was since we called 911!

Day 3
We went to Silverwood Theme park. The kids rode a lot of rides and played a lot of games. However, they would only ride 1 out of 4 roller coasters, Scott and I would have loved to ride them all but that didn't quite work out. Kamryn also would have ridden them but she needed to be just a bit taller. We watched a pretty cool magic show that inspired Caleb and Katelyn to practice magic tricks back at the hotel putting paper behind their ears... Kamryn of course tried it too but only she put it on the inside of her ear... she just got the paper removed from her ear today by the doctor. (5 days later)
Day 4
We spent all day at Triple Play which was also attached to the hotel, we played miniature golf, bumper boats, go karts, rock climbing, and arcade games. It was nice that we could just go up to our room when we were soaked by the bumper boats and when Cade needed a nap. The girls even rock climbed but of course again no picture. The kids had a lot of fun and we finished off the day with another night at the water park. Caleb met a girl and went down the water slide w/ her but... he forgot to get her name so we only know her as Portland.

Day 5
This is travel back home day, we went to eat an actual breakfast at a restaurant that wasn't continental. Man when will we be able to actually eat in a restaurant again? Let's just say Cade and restaurants do not mix. Then we had to go back to the hotel after receiving a call letting us know that Katelyn left her purse, with her phone in it. Finally on the road... I think Cade and Kamryn cried the first two hours and were cranky the whole rest of the way home!

Overall we had a lot of fun and made some really good memories, I would do every part of it over again. I loved spending this kind of time with my family and can't wait until the next family trip. This was a good vacation spot and I was impressed with everything we did, I thought the hotel was a perfect place to stay with kids.

Katelyn turns 8!

We went to Chuck E. Cheese for lunch on Katelyn's birthday and everyone had a lot of fun. She invited two friends Ashlynnae and Prisilla. They had fun playing on the games and rides, and of course the best part cashing in their tickets. Kamryn and Cade had a lot of fun too. I love the way Chuck E. Cheese is set up, for the most part you can let then kids run around and just keep an eye on them vs. having to have have a hand on them at all times.
Next we went to the doctor, 3 of the 4 had their check ups and got shots... yep Katelyn had to get a shot on her birthday! Let's just say this was not the highlight of her day.
Family party... everyone came over for cake, icecream, and sorry to say Katelyn's favorite part presents. Katelyn got a lot of awesome presents as usual... thank you everyone! Katelyn did get a cell phone in which she has been counting the days to get since she was I don't know 5. She is quickly learning how to text message and calls all her family members everyday. It was a lot of fun having everyone over and was a great ending to a special day.

Swimming Lessons

Katelyn did an awesome job with her swim lessons and improved so much each day, they were perfect timing also as she was able to practice what she learned during our family vacation. Katelyn's favorite part was working on her Tarzan strokes.
This was Kamryn's first time having lessons and she completely loved it. Everyday she asks if she has swimming and sometimes even puts her suit on first thing in the morning. Kamryn's favorite part was blowing her bubbles.
The girls are both sad that their session is over and are looking forward to the next time they can take lessons.

More to come...

The girls start swimming lessons next week. Katelyn has a birthday this week on the 7th. Our family vacation is next weekend, we are going to Coeur d'alene the 8th thru the 12th. Ashlynn's birthday and Jace's blessing. Katelyn's baptism. School starts... already?... WOW!

Big Deal!!!

This is a big deal... I work days now! Yep new position at work! My new schedule is Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 5! This means I am married again, team parenting vs. single parenting, less help needed from the family, family dinners, social life, need I say more?
